NFL Draft: Fan Favorite Highlights

Background
The NFL draft is an exciting moment for football fans! It’s the beginning of a new season, welcoming new players and creating a sense of optimism about the year ahead. To create a more personal experience for our fans, ESPN wanted to surprise and delight our users by celebrating their team’s newest draft picks for the season. My role was to design a celebratory campaign highlighting each team’s newest recruits based on their favorite teams logged in the ESPN app. I worked with motion and graphic designers to scale the solution across all 52 teams. In its first release in 2022, I manually entered the players’ names into a design template before launching the campaign 12 hours after the draft announcement. We ensured each design was scaleable and accessible for all users!
This project has since expanded to a digital workflow, celebrating many different sports like basketball, tennis, and hockey! Our engagement continues to grow as users can now share these campaigns with others!
